Depressed Pegs to fit thin thicknesses

In case of special applications, i.e. when elements having a very thin thickness (such as thin floors with surface reinforcement, shell-panels, shell beams etc) shall be handled, the special Edilmatic Depressed Pegs can be utilized.

These Pegs have a reduced height, treatment and materials are the same ones being utilized for the production of the standard Pegs and a properly dimensioned Load Distribution Plate is applied onto the base of the Peg. The geometric characteristics of the Depressed Peg are reported in Table 1.

To properly use this kind of Pegs and considering the very thin thickness of the elements the pegs shall be positioned in, an additional stiffening functioning as a redistribution of induced forces on a concrete surface being as wide as possible shall always be added to the insert.

See Table 2 to determine both positioning and dimensions of the additional reinforcement to be utilized.

The material the Depressed Pegs are made of also allows the additional reinforcement to be applied through light welding seams.

Table 3 contains data related to the Lifting Capacity (Pu) of the Pegs; both weight and dimensions of the structure as well as the typology of the utilized formwork shall be taken into consideration for a determination of the bond coefficient "D" required to determine the increase in weight of the Structure to be handled.

To propely use the Depressed Peg, the directives reported in Table 3 and related to the minimum distance from the edges as well as the minimum thickness of the elements shall be followed.
