 | BENT TILE-BEAM CONNECTION FOR PREFABBRICATED STRUCTURE The EDILMATIC bent tile-beam connection system proposes itself as an innovative earthquake-proof system to connect prefabricated elements.
As shown in Figure 1, the connecting system can be applied to both double T bent tiles and wing bent tiles. For each covering double T bent tile, four connecting elements will be used for each side, while for each wing bent tile the connecting elements for each side will be two, fastened with properly shaped plates depending on the bent tile shape.
Among the expected performances of the connecting system are the following:
the capacity to effectively disperse energy for pre-set loading conditions, reducing stress inside the structure in which it is installed after seismic events also of significant importance;
the damage localization in the connecting system rather than the structural elements;
the maximization of the assembly, adjustment and possible replacement speed, by minimizing costs at the same time.
